Downtown Culver City lights up holiday season with annual
‘Tree Lighting Celebration’ and visit from Santa Claus
Wednesday, Dec. 12 at 6 p.m. at Downtown Culver City’s Town Plaza
Culver City Holiday Tree Lighting Celebration — Celebrate peace, good will and the holiday season at this annual event. See Santa Claus as he makes a very special visit, all the way from the North Pole. Downtown Culver City businesses provide the hot beverages, cookies and other festive treats that are sure to make everyone feel merry. Enjoy performances by local choirs, appearances by the Mayor and city council members, and a special, cameo appearance by Dixie of Dixie’s Tupperware Party, courtesy of the Kirk Douglas Theatre. Culver City makes this holiday celebration “green” and energy efficient, lighting a beautiful 22-foot Rocky Mountain pine tree with over 7,500 warm-white LED lights. Stay afterwards for dinner at one of Downtown Culver City’s many restaurants, or take a stroll down the boulevards. Culver City’s downtown area is Southern California’s best kept secret, featuring a wonderful mix of historic buildings, boutiques, theaters, galleries, and unique restaurants opening on to tree-lined streets.
