IAMA teams up with Marc & Rose to create one-night only immersive
theater experience for grand re-opening of Carmel’s historic La Playa Hotel 

 

CARMEL, Calif (January 14, 2024) — To celebrate the grand re-opening and restoration of the historic La Playa Hotel, Marc & Rose Hospitality joined forces with IAMA Theatre Company to transform the Carmel-by-the-Sea hotel into a living theater, curating a brand new immersive theater experience.

The one-night only, site specific theater piece was written by Christian Durso and directed by Eli Gonda. The cast featured IAMA ensemble members Laila Ayad, Josh Bywater, Christian Durso, Parvesh Cheena, Ryan Garcia, Jenna Johnson, Andria Kozica, Matthew Scott Montgomery, Karla Mosley, Sonal Shah, Tonatiuh and Sarah Utterback, along with understudies Kim Griffin and Stephen Graybill. Costume design was by Elena Flores, the stage manager was Roella Dellosa, and Marnie Price produced for IAMA.
