Fabiano do Nascimento

Born in Rio de Janeiro in 1983, guitarist/composer/arranger Fabiano do Nascimento was born into a musical family and had his first contact with music at age of six. Fabiano, a mostly self-taught musician, was influenced by many aspects of Brazilian music and jazz at early age, including the music of his uncle, the late Lúcio Nascimento. In 2001, Fabiano left Brazil for Los Angeles, where he soon connected with the woodwind player Pablo Calogero and percussionist Tiki Passillas, forming Triorganico. This Brazilian influenced Latin jazz trio recorded their first album Triorganico – Convivencia under the label Stonesthrow and Now-Again. Fabiano has also recorded and worked with many artists including Airto Moreira, Mia Doi Todd, Aloe Blacc, Sumiko Fukatsu, Ted Falcon, Arthur Verocai, Draco Rosa, Justo Almario, Ronaldo Freitas (Carioca), Pablo Fagundes, Sam Gendel and many more. With the young saxophonist Sam Gendel, Fabiano released the album SUL and he worked with singer/songwriter Mia Doi Todd on her Brazilian album Floresta. Fabiano has a new release through Now-Again records titled Dança dos Tempos, featuring legendary Brazilian percussionist Airto Moreira.
