From Airborne Army Ranger to Dutch Harbor, Alaska:
‘The Money Fi$h’ extends through Dec. 20
WHAT:
The Money Fi$h — Extended through Dec. 20: The true story of one man’s harrowing experience as a commercial fisherman on the Bering Sea. Michael Arabian (Waiting for Godot) directs writer/performer John Cox in his gripping tale of the search for fortune and adventure that propelled him from Airborne Army Ranger to Dutch Harbor, Alaska. Hell isn’t hot. Hell is freezing cold, wet — and stinks like fish.
“MOVE OVER, Jack London and Eugene O’Neill. Writing about the sea helped make you famous, but now you will need to make room for John Cox… Cox vividly conveys what it takes to survive in a brutal, unforgiving world.” — Will Manus, TotalTheater.com
“RECOMMENDED… Cox is a gifted storyteller who infuses the narrative with a bracing sense of place that you can’t help but feel, and the many characters he mimics with uncanny ease are an arresting bunch of rogues and seamen that can illicit chills as well as laughs.” — Lovell Estell, Stage Raw
“FASCINATING… filled with characters and situations keenly remembered and vividly recreated… Don’t miss this unique show; you will not be disappointed.” — Paul Myrvold’s Theatre Notes
“ABSORBING… a special guy in a special production… You have to see this if only for its unique view of human tenacity and guts.” — Dale Reynolds. EDGE
“POWERFUL… Authentic emotions and a compelling story.” — Serita Stevens, LA Splash
“ENGROSSING… Don’t miss this inspiring true story.” — Morna Martell, Theatre Spoken Here and Not Born Yesterday
